I've been to almost all the restaurants in the Evanston area and Campagnola is by far the best. It is very fine dining. Formal, small, romantic, dark-lite dining room make it a perfect date. The food is absolutely amazing; nothing really matches it. I had their seasonal bruschetta once (in the spring) and it is out of this world with flavor. The fish there melts in your mouth. I usually get the steak (which comes with a big steak knife) and caramelized onions - simply perfect. You have to take the El to get there, but it's well worth it.

romantic place for a date. too romantic for anything other than a date, especially on a weekday. pricey but one of the best restaurant experiences around here... unfortunate that it is a little too far to walk to.
