I was prepared not to like this yuppified take on Chinese and Japanese. The food was too good though. Every Chinese dish I have gotten at Koi has been flavorful and delicious, even if their Chinese menu isn't particularly experimental or broad. Prices are a little high for me, but they are certainly good for a restaurant of this caliber.

I had sushi and my wife had chinese. Both types of food were pretty good. I liked the upscale atmosphere. Service was good. Our waiter didn't even get flustered when the people sitting next to us argued with the waiter over getting "chicken sushi" - ahhhh the midwest.

Please don't eat at koi! After eating chicken which was uncooked I passed out from food poisoning and hurt my head. I almost had to go to the hospital and no one at the restaurant even apologized. The food isn't anything special and if you want good Asian go to Lulu's, Cozy, Joy Yee's, or Sashimi Sashimi for a lot less!!!

Koi is awesome. The food is great and the martinis are too (try the lychi martini).

hrm. i dont' remember the food too much. i was too busy looking outside their bay windows at the people going to great clips. then i woke up and i was in a ups truck and this guy was going, "what can brown do for you?" and i said, "well shit, i don't know."

Awesome sushi, best in Evanston and not terribly expensive. Great atmosphere, good for dates. Service can be a hair slow, but they aren't breathing down your backs and pushing you out the door.

Very good food. I heard sushi is bad though. A nice place with a good atmosphere.

What a horrible place to go to. When you find shrimp in your supposed vegetarian dish and the waitress thinks it's a mushroom, you know you have a problem. Bad service and expensive for the food quality.
