Last summer I ordered from here for the first time. My food was very dry and lacked any taste. However, my disappoint didn't end there, since I woke up sick from food poisoning the next morning. I never had this experience before and was shocked that a place with such a "great reputation" would serve this kind of food. I'm NEVER ordering from here again. The restaurant itself could use some cleaning, too.

the best place for chinese food in evanston - hands down. i was so disappointed coming here and finding that all the local chinese places are crap. especially joy yees, which everyone raves about. BARF. at mandarin, things aren't deep fried and there seems to be very little if any msg. great sauces and everything tastes fresh. the people there are so nice and the service is great. i go there at least once a week. AMAZING.

Fabulous, especially when you order with no oil. I've only gotten takeout because I lived down the street, but definitely the best Chinese in Evanston for the price.

It's a nice quiet small place. The food is... regular chinese food. The menu has a decent selection, and its a good place to chat with a few friends. I didn't get fast service when i went though.. I don't think the food deserves as much praise as people are giving it, but its definitely better than any pan-asian place.

A hidden gem. Great for mainstays like moo shoo pork or bibim bap, and also great for more adventurous dishes off of the back side of the menu.

Well no ****, T. Doan. If you're dumb enough to get something Americanized at a authentic place to eat, you're just asking for trouble. This family owned business is pretty awesome. The waitresses and servers are great at holding conversations in both Korean and Chinese. If you know what to get, you're in for a treat every single time.

The sweet and sour chicken tasted like mustard chicken, and the chicken pieces were so small that i could not tell which part of the chicken they came from. That's scary.

Mandarin House rocks! It has kept me going all fall quarter. They make the mu sho pork right in front of you. Great place up north.
