An Evanston Classic. I usually go with the Mixed Special but sometimes I change it up with the Catfish Nuggets.
Don't forget to request them to put the hot sauce on for you.
Anybody who talks shit on this place is a piece.

great place. call ahead for fast service. my 22nd birthday was "catered" by chicken shack since i've loved it so much during my 4 years at NU. Popeye the cook is pretty cool too. dark meat special is real cheap. 24 pieces, split amongst 4 people goes a LONGGGGG way.

Definitely order for carry-out. A place to find nice greasy but fresh fried chicken at a excellent value. I was alittle confused when I ordered the 1lb fried catfish...... I got half a box of catfish, half a box of fries, a little container of coleslaw and bread??? It was good, nonetheless.

The food's okay. But it's not the type of place to take a group of friends, because it get's really crowded in that small place.
The selection could be better, but u usually go there when you just want chicken and fries. And a drink from there vending machines.

EXCELLENT catfish nuggets, EXCELLENT policy of reverse discrimination based upon W.A.S.P.iness, EXCELLENT soda selection (go with Cherry RC or Upper 10). Make sure you have them put the hot sauce on for you. Hands down the best restaurant in Evanston.

succulent catfish nuggets, finger-lickin crispy fried chicken, excellent soda selection. next to bistro campagne, the best restaurant in evanston. order in advance.

Chicken Shack is the place to be ........... tasty, cripsy, just superb. Just try it ....you cannot resist it. Always carry out though for better taste.

It's like KFC but fresh made to order. The catfish dinners aren't as good of a deal as the chicken... stay away.
